The Nigerian capital is hosting a preparatory meeting of experts for the 5th session of the Niger-Morocco Joint Cooperation Commission.
The meeting aims to strengthen the legal and political framework of their partnership and adapt it to current socio-economic changes.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Djibo Barikoye, Director General of Bilateral Relations, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Nigeriens Abroad, according to Nigerien authorities.
The strategic meeting aims to review the legal and political framework of bilateral cooperation, with the objective of strengthening it and adapting it to recent economic and social transformations. The work will focus on several priority sectors, including security, transport, agriculture, health, and training, with the preparation of agreements and legal instruments designed to broaden the partnership and promote mutually beneficial development.
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the Moroccan ambassador to Niger, Mohamed Iboumraten, and the Nigerien ambassador to Morocco, Abdoulaye Keita.
