With several artists from the kingdom featured, Morocco’s presence at major Tunisian cultural events is part of a
trend that is growing year after year.
Several Moroccan artists are headlining the main summer festivals in Tunisia, illustrating the strengthening of cultural exchanges between the two countries and the increasing prominence of the Moroccan music scene at major Tunisian artistic events.
The organisers of the Sfax International Festival have unveiled the program for their 46th edition, which will take place from July 21 to August 17, featuring 19 shows.
Among the highlights is the concert by Moroccan Artist Amine Boudchart, scheduled for August 8 at the city’s
open-air theatre. The Moroccan presence will also be noteworthy at the Hammamet International Festival, organized this year under the theme “A Living Memory.”
Moroccan singer Najat Aatabou, an iconic figure in chaabi music, will give a concert, while on July 30th, the public will discover the “Aita Mon Amour” project, born from the collaboration between Moroccan artist Widad Mjama and Tunisian musician Khalil Epi, which revisits the heritage of Moroccan Aita.
This program reflects the growing importance of Moroccan music in major Tunisian cultural events. The organisers are showcasing artists representing diverse repertoires, ranging from popular music to contemporary creations resulting from regional artistic collaborations.
The participation of Moroccan artists is part of a dynamic that has been strengthening with each edition.
Amine Boudchart had already performed at the 58th edition of the Carthage International Festival in 2024, while the groups Nas El Ghiwane and Hind Ennaira had marked the 59th edition of the Hammamet International Festival, confirming the influence of the Moroccan music scene on the Tunisian public.
