A group linked to ISIS have executed civilians in a mountainous region of Somalia’s Puntland State, local media reports.
According to Horeseed Media, militants affiliated to ISIS had killed two individuals at the Al-Miskad mountain range during a raid to replenish their dwindling supplies.
The report said one of those executed in the Qandala district of the Bari region of Putntland was a woman identified as Fadumo Dugeeye, as the mlitants attacked her village on Sunday.
Her husband and daughter were killed in an earlier raid by the same group whose members have been running amuck in the area unchallenged for years.
Some frightening families have been fleeing the area for fear of further raids by the militants who also reportedly made away with 400 livestock ostensibly belonging to their victims.
Horseed Media quoted an unnamed official of the Puntland Defense Force as saying the armed group has been in hiding in a cave in the Balade stream area, infiltrating nearby localities at night to look for food and other victuals.
