Acting Vice President Henri-Claude Oyima, on Tuesday in Libreville, launched the first edition of the Côte d’Ivoire-Gabon Business Forum (FACIGA 2025), an economic event focused on South-South cooperation.
The forum was under the theme: “Côte d’Ivoire-Gabon, a model of South-South economic
cooperation,” the Gabonese Press Agency reported.
The ceremony brought together several high-ranking officials, including the Ivorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Ivorians Abroad, Leon Adom Houadja Kacou; the Ivorian
Minister of State for Agriculture, Kouassi Adjoumani Kobenan; and the Ivorian Ambassador to Gabon, Bertin Konan Kouadio. Members of the Gabonese government, business leaders, and numerous investors from both countries also participated in the inaugural event.
Henri-Claude Oyima emphasised that FACIGA is based on “solidarity, economic complementarity, and the shared ambition to build resilient, competitive, and sovereign economies,” describing the
forum as a “bridge” and a “catalyst for opportunities.”
Gabon’s acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, François Ndong Obiang, emphasised the need to strengthen economic ties and build “a solid bridge between our economies, our businesses, and our development visions,” particularly through the sharing of expertise and the creation of synergies.
Ambassador Bertin Konan Kouadio praised the strong mobilisation of economic stakeholders in both countries, a result of the partnership between CEPICI and ANPI.
Ivorian Minister Leon Adom Houadja Kacou spoke of “a shared river of prosperity” that the two nations are building together, considering FACIGA to be “a gateway for thinking, creating, and building differently.”
Finally, Faman Toure, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Côte d’Ivoire, and Alain-Claude Kouakou, President of the FEG (Federation of Gabonese Enterprises), emphasised that the
strengths of both countries represent a major strategic lever for reinforcing South-South cooperation, stressing that the future depends on the ability to build strong synergies and leverage
complementarities.
FACIGA 2025 marks the first edition of a forum entirely dedicated to promoting economic exchanges between Côte d’Ivoire and Gabon, with the aim of boosting cross-investment and accelerating South-South cooperation.
