Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, on Monday welcomed Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Ghanaian Parliament in Rabat.
The visit by the Ghanaian lawmakers forms part of Morocco’s broader strategy to strengthen its footprint in West Africa by leveraging parliamentary diplomacy to boost bilateral ties.
Ghana’s Ambassador to Morocco, Charity Gbedawo, also took part in the meeting, which underscored the longstanding relations between the two nations, dating back to 1961.
Vanderpuije emphasized that the partnership is rooted in a shared vision of development and South-South cooperation, built on a solid historical foundation.
He noted that the purpose of the visit is to enhance collaboration between the legislative bodies of both countries and praised the “fruitful” exchanges with Morocco’s top diplomat, marked by a mutual commitment to advancing common interests.
