Niger’s Minister of Population, Social Action, and National Solidarity, Sidikou Ramatou Djermakoye Seyni, is visiting Rabat to discuss deepening cooperation in social issues with the Kingdom of Morocco.
The Nigerien Minister was received on Monday by her Moroccan counterpart, Naima Ben Yahia, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family. The meeting centered on ways to consolidate bilateral cooperation across key areas, including social solidarity, social integration, family affairs, and the protection of vulnerable people.
Minister Djermakoye Seyni emphasized that her working visit aims to strengthen the “centuries-old bonds of friendship and cooperation” between the two nations. She highlighted that Niger and Morocco share “the same ambitions for the good of our populations and the consolidation of our social actions.”
The discussions provided an opportunity to examine various potential cooperation areas, notably women’s advancement, child protection, and assistance to vulnerable groups.
Minister Ben Yahia noted that the meeting reflects the strength of Moroccan-Nigerien relations, allowing for a fruitful exchange on the Kingdom’s social sector projects, particularly those targeting citizens in need of specific support.
During the visit, the Nigerien delegation is learning about the various social programs and initiatives implemented by the Moroccan ministry and its partner institutions, often in coordination with civil society organizations. This drive to deepen relations is aligned with the African solidarity and South-South cooperation vision advocated by King Mohammed VI.
