The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Algerian national team 2–0 to reach the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
The quarter-final victory at the Stade de Marrakech on Saturday extended the Super Eagles’ unbeaten record at the tournament,
The Super Eagles opened scoring in the second half through Victor Osimhen, who rose unmarked in the six-yard box to power home a close-range header from Bruno Onyemaechi’s delivery.
In the 57th Minute Osimhen provided a perfect assist to his team mate, Akor Adams, who dribbled the Algerian goalkeeper and scored the Super Eagles second goal.
The Super Eagles failed to increase in tally in the closing segments of the encounter when the ball hit the post and bounced off, while they defended well and denied the Algerians from scoring a goal.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on the host, Morocco for the semi-final stage of the tournament on Wednesday.
