Royal Air Maroc (RAM), in collaboration with Al Barid Bank, has introduced a pioneering digital solution at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, marking a first for Morocco.
This innovative system aims to offer personalized support to passengers throughout their airport journey, leveraging advanced contactless payment technology.
The new solution is powered by the “Barid Payment Mobile” application and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, enabling travelers to make rapid and secure payments by simply tapping their bank card or smartphone on a mobile terminal. To facilitate this, three dedicated counters have been set up at crucial points: check-in, transit, and boarding. A team of over 24 specially trained agents is on hand to assist customers, offering a suite of additional services. These include the purchase of “Select Seats,” access to “Business” lounges, upgrades to Business Class, and access to the premium “Loft” service.
This service, which RAM plans to extend soon to Paris-Orly Airport, is a key component of Royal Air Maroc’s broader digitalization strategy. The airline’s goal is to enhance the customer experience comprehensively, from the initial ticket booking to final baggage delivery.
Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc, stated, “This initiative reflects our commitment to providing a seamless, digital experience upon arrival at the airport, as part of a 12-month transformation program.”
Al Amine Nejjar, Chairman of the Board of Al Barid Bank, added, “This partnership illustrates our shared commitment to innovate in the service of travelers by offering a secure and efficient mobile payment solution.”
This collaboration represents a significant leap forward in the modernization of Moroccan airport services.
