The latest intervention occurred on Saturday, August 22, 2026, when naval forces intercepted a wooden pirogue carrying 210 migrants. Due to concerning health conditions among several passengers onboard, eight individuals required urgent medical care and were immediately evacuated to Saint-Louis, while the remaining passengers were transported to the Admiral Faye Gassama Naval Base to be transferred to local administrative authorities.
