London is set to host a major economic summit on October 8, 2026, aimed at strengthening trade ties and attracting foreign capital to East Africa.
Organised by the Tanzanian High Commission in the UK, NMB Bank Plc, and Invest Africa, the inaugural Tanzania Investment Forum will feature Tanzanian Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba as its guest of honour and principal speaker. The high-level gathering will convene global financiers, corporate executives, and senior policymakers to discuss commercial opportunities across Tanzania’s key growth industries, including renewable energy, critical minerals, infrastructure, and digital technology.
Addressing international partners ahead of the event, Dr. Nchemba emphasized that private sector collaboration is vital to fulfilling the country’s long-term Development Vision 2050 framework. He highlighted Tanzania’s strategic location, natural resource wealth, and expanding market access as key advantages for prospective investors. Echoing these sentiments, Invest Africa CEO Chantelé Carrington noted that the London forum provides a direct bridge between global investors and Tanzanian leadership to mobilize capital, accelerate technology transfer, and drive sustainable economic expansion.
