Asake, one of Nigeria’s most prominent Afrobeats stars, has bagged an endorsement deal with Adidas worth $35 million, the Music Base Platform revealed on Tuesday.
Under the terms of the deal, Asake whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, will be the face of the Adidas brand.
The 31-year-old Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper has enjoyed huge success in the past few years, achievements which attracted Adidas to the deal which is yet to be finalised.
The former dancer has had a long association with the brand, wearing Adidas to concerts and public events
Asake’s big break came in 2022 when he released his first album, Mr Money with the Vibe.
With that album he became a record breaker in the opening day for any African album on Apple Music.
It reached number 66 on the Billboard 200 chart.
