Kenya Airways said it has suffered a net loss of KSh 17.163 billion for the year ended December 31, 2025.
This performance reverses the KSh 5.4 billion profit posted in 2024 says a statement from the management of Kenya’s national carrier on Tuesday.
The staement suggests that the airline’s total income for last year is at KSh 161.47 billion, down from KSh 188.5 billion in the previous year.
The management blames these lacklustre figures on the problems caused by engine unavailability, and challenges posed by the global supply chain.
It also cites the temporary grounding of three of its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft as the reason for the loss of revenue which dented profitability.
These grounded planes represent 33% of the airline’s wide-body fleet.
