Africans have been identified as some of the fatalities of a US air strike targeting Houthi militants in Yemen, APA learnt on Monday.
Reports quoting the Al Masirah TV channel used by the Houthis suggest that 68 African migrants died when US jets poundeda detention center in Saada province.
47 other migrants were reported critically injured by a series of air strikes, targeting Houthi fighters in north-western Yemen large swathes of which are under their control.
Al Masirah showed footage of bodies under rubble in the centre which was accommodating 115 African migrants at the time of the air strikes on Sunday night.
Since last year, some 60,900 migrants arrived in Yemen, fleeing poverty and persecution.
Although the US has not confirmed the latest air strikes, its military recently announced that its forces had targeted some 800 Houthi bases and other facilities inside Yemen.
Since President Donald Trump assumed office in January, the US had intensified its air campaign against the militants.
