Burkina Faso’s President Captain Ibrahim Traoré on Tuesday sent a special envoy to Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno to discuss the forthcoming 29th edition of the Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) set for next month.
According to a statement from the Chadian presidency, the envoy, Burkina Faso’s Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister Gilbert Ouédraogo – who is also government spokesperson – conveyed a message from Captain Traoré to Marshal Deby Itno.
During his visit to Chad, the minister discussed preparations for FESPACO 2025, underscoring the festival’s importance as a premier cultural event in Africa.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss bilateral cooperation and celebrate the strong ties between Chad and Burkina Faso, the statement added.
Chad will be the guest of honour at the 29th FESPACO.
