The Malian army says it carried out several counterterrorism operations in the northern and central regions of the country last week, neutralizing over 20 terrorists and destroying strategic positions in the areas of Doro, Badiangara and Timbuktu.
According to a statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces received by APA, the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) launched multiple operations between January 12 and 13 targeting terrorist strongholds.
In Doro, a January 13 operation resulted in the destruction of a terrorist hideout.
The operation reportedly neutralized three terrorists and led to the seizure of military equipment, including LRAC rocket launchers and various communication tools.
On January 12, airstrikes targeted a gathering of terrorists in the Berdosso area, located 74 kilometers northeast of Badiangara in central Mali, neutralizing approximately 20 individuals.
That same day, in the Timbuktu region in northern Mali, two trucks carrying terrorist logistical equipment were destroyed near Tin-Tates, 58 kilometers northeast of Zorho.
Another operation on January 13 dismantled a hideout used by fleeing terrorists, allowing the recovery of materials such as solar panels and tools.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces reaffirmed its commitment to combating terrorist groups, highlighting their current state of disorganization.
