The Office of the President in Seychelles Wednesday issued a note of caution to its public about utilising dodgy online platforms with President Patrick Herminie’s fake profile.
”We have noted the emergence of fake accounts and posts promoting fraudulent offers, including housing schemes and payments” said a statement from President Herminie’s office.
It reminded Seychelles citizens that the president ”does not conduct private promotions, giveaways, or financial solicitations through social media”.
It added that ”any official communication will be shared exclusively through verified State House channels, namely Facebook, X, YouTube, and WhatsApp” .
The president’s office said it was advising unsuspecting citizens against interacting with suspicious accounts or content, and encourages them to report them immediately.
