East African education ministers meeting at a regional conference in the Kenyan capital Nairobi from 25 to 28th August have resolved to build resilient, future-ready systems that deliver lasting impact for learners across the region, according to a statement on Monday.
The EAC considers education as critical to the socio-economic situation in the region and gradual regional integration.
EAC members say they are not only committed to strengthening their individual education systems but also harmonise processes undertaken at regional level to align these systems.
To this end, regional officials have been attending the second East African Regional Education Conference, held under the theme “From Commitment to Impact: Fostering Resilience and Future-Ready Systems for Sustainable Development.”
There was a closed-door Ministerial Committee session in which EAC education ministers and senior officials from the region resolved to ratify a joint communiqué, outlining agreed actions to implement ahead of the third conference, to be hosted in Kampala, Uganda.
