Mohamed Salah has officially extended his contract with Liverpool until 2027, sealing his future at the club after eight exceptional seasons at Anfield.
Liverpool FC confirmed this Friday the contract extension by Salah, who is now part of the club’s plans beyond the 2024-25 season. The striker has enjoyed another phenomenal season.
Arriving in 2017 from AS Roma, Salah has become a true Anfield legend.
With 243 goals in 394 matches in all competitions, he now ranks third in the club’s all-time top scorer rankings. This season again, the 32-year-old winger continues to impress with 32 goals and 22 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions, including 27 goals in the Premier League alone. He now leads the English league’s scoring charts.
“Of course, I’m very excited. We have a great team now. We used to have a great team too. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win more trophies and enjoy my football,” the player told the club’s official website LiverpoolFC.com.
An already historic legacy
With this new contract, Mohamed Salah is aiming even higher. In eight seasons at Liverpool, he has won almost everything: Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup. Individually, the Egyptian has been crowned the Premier League Golden Boot three times, the PFA Player of the Year twice, and the FWA Footballer of the Year twice. His influence on Liverpool’s game is undeniable, as is his consistency at the highest level.
“I spent my best years here. I played for eight years, I hope it will be 10. I’m enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years of my career,” he added. Addressing the fans, he said he was “very happy to be here” and asked them to continue supporting the team.
Mohamed Salah, more than a player, has become a Liverpool icon. This extension confirms his commitment to the club and his unwavering ambition to continue making history with the Reds.
