A Moroccan consortium comprising SGTM and TGCC has successfully won the tender for Lot 2 of the Casablanca Grand Stade project.
This strategic partnership solidifies the position of major Moroccan construction firms in undertaking infrastructure projects of international significance.
The awarded contract is valued at over 3.4 billion dirhams, approximately €314 million. The consortium’s responsibilities encompass all structural work, including waterproofing, steelwork, cladding, suspended ceilings, joinery, and painting.
This operational launch marks a concrete step forward for the major sports facility, planned for Benslimane. The project is a key component of Morocco’s preparations for the 2030 World Cup, which the country will co-host with Spain and Portugal. The future stadium is mandated to meet stringent FIFA standards for both infrastructure and sustainability.
Concurrently, TGCC has scheduled an Extraordinary General Meeting for July 2 to approve a capital increase of up to 2.5 billion dirhams (approximately €231 million). This move underscores the company’s commitment to bolstering its financial capacity to support large-scale projects.
