The Beninese group Mindo Consultants presented its new bimonthly magazine, “Impact Business,” a multimedia (print and digital) publication dedicated to African economies on Wednesday evening in Dakar.
Building on the success of Aéroports Magazine d’Afrique, the group intends to offer a pan-African economic information space to promote development.
“Building on the success of Aeroports Magazine d’Afrique, we decided, based on the recommendations received, to launch a new publication: Impact Business,” Leon Anjorin Koboude, CEO of Mindo Consultants explained.
“Despite the abundance of newspapers and magazines on the continent, very few are specifically interested in African economic information.
However, the story of the continent’s development is being built before our eyes and deserves to be told through a positive narrative,” he emphasised.
Published in print (10,000 copies) and digitally (over 30,000 downloads per issue), the magazine covers 15 French-speaking African countries.
A mobile app is also in development to enhance its accessibility.
“Our ambition was to establish a professional media outlet that respects Africa’s image without becoming complacent. As I often repeat, we must adopt a view without complacency, but without complexes,” Mr. Koboude added.
Impact Business also intends to lend importance to the informal sector, offering it “humane treatment” while encouraging its gradual formalisation.
“There is not one African economy, but several African economies, each evolving at its own pace,” the founder emphasised.
Supported by a network of renowned contributors – including Josué Blaise Mbankakak (Cameroon), Yaou Noel (Côte d’Ivoire), EricvTchendier, Jean-Victor Nkolo, Amadou Lamine Diatta, and Bakary Dabo – the magazine is preparing a special issue dedicated to Senegal, expected by the end of the year.
With this editorial line, Impact Business aims to become a benchmark in the coverage of African economic news, moving beyond clichés and promoting initiatives that contribute to the continent’s progress.
