Senegal’s Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, Cheikh Niang, officially received working copies of credentials from two incoming ambassadors-designate during formal diplomatic proceedings in Dakar on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
The envoys—Markus Reiterer of the Republic of Austria and Rashid Ali Humaid Al-Badi of the Sultanate of Oman—completed the mandatory protocol requirement prior to presenting their formal letters of credence to President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
During the bilateral sessions, Minister Niang and the diplomats discussed strategic avenues to deepen, expand, and diversify economic and diplomatic cooperation between Senegal and their respective nations. The diplomatic engagements reflect Dakar’s ongoing foreign policy effort to strengthen international partnerships and broaden institutional collaboration across European and Gulf states under President Faye’s administration.
