Two weeks before the kick-off of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2026, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is organising the first French-language edition of the “Stars Spotlight Webinar Series” on Friday, July 10.
This virtual event, designed for media and football stakeholders, aims to highlight key figures in the competition.
According to a CAF press release, the “Stars Spotlight Series” initiative is part of the promotional strategy for the 2026 Women’s WAFCON continental tournament, which will take place from July 26 to August 16, 2026, in Morocco.
It aims to provide a forum for exchange between players, journalists, and women’s football enthusiasts in the lead-up to this edition of the WAFCON.
The session will be moderated by sports journalist Katty Toure and will bring together six African international players who will share their experiences and expectations ahead of the competition: Ghizlaine Chebbak (Morocco), Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene (Cameroon), Chloe N’Gazi (Algeria), Mama Diop (Senegal), Bernadette Amani (Côte d’Ivoire), and Charlotte Millogo (Burkina Faso).
Discussions will focus on the preparation of the various national teams, the players’ ambitions, the development of women’s football in Africa, and the main sporting challenges of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Through the “Stars Spotlight Webinar Series,” CAF aims to increase the visibility of African women’s football and provide a platform for players to express themselves, in a context where the sport is
experiencing constant growth on the continent, both in terms of competitiveness and audience.
