The Kenyan city hosting the ninth summit of local government authorities from across Africa has many faces as an economic, cultural and political centre with fluctuating fortunes in the recent past.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, Tuesday 17 May, opened the ninth edition of the Africities Summit in the western Kenyan city of Kisumu.

The 9th edition of the Africities Summit on May 17-21 will focus on the challenges faced by more than 1,000 intermediate cities.

The Kenyan Oscar-winning actress associated her name to the 9th edition of this triennial event scheduled from May 17 to 21, 2022 in Kisumu, Kenya.
