The AfroBasket Women 2025 draw took place on Wednesday, April 23, in Abidjan with host country Côte d’Ivoire placed in Group A alongside Angola and Egypt.
Mali re in the same group with Cameroon and South Sudan.
The tournament holds from July 26 to August 3, 2025.
Abidjan will host AfroBasket Women for the first time in its history, a major first for Côte d’Ivoire, which will host the tournament at the Palais des Sports in Treichville.
The draw was conducted in the presence of FIBA Africa officials.
The opening match, scheduled for July 26, will pit Côte d’Ivoire against Egypt, a highly anticipated duel.
Group B, dubbed the group of death, features Mali, Cameroon, and South Sudan.
Reigning runners-up Senegal play Group C opponents Uganda and Guinea.
Finally, defending champions Nigeria will be in Group D with Mozambique and Rwanda.
The winners of each group will advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the runners-up and third-placed teams will play in a play-off.
