Angola is set to host the 17th US-Africa Business Summit from 22-25 June, marking a significant opportunity for the country to attract investment and strengthen economic ties with the United States.
The event, themed “Paths to Prosperity,” is expected to bring together approximately 3,000 business leaders and government officials to discuss key development areas, including infrastructure, agriculture, energy and healthcare.
The summit, organised by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) in collaboration with the Angolan government, coincides with Angola’s 50th independence anniversary celebrations.
It is expected to serve as a platform for fostering partnerships with US companies and facilitating access to financial instruments aimed at advancing mechanised agriculture and other priority sectors.
Angola’s hosting of the event underscores its ambition to position itself as a key player in Africa’s economic growth.
The country seeks to leverage the summit to secure foreign investment and accelerate development efforts.
The previous US-Africa Summit took place in May 2024 in Dallas in the US, making this the latest instalment in ongoing efforts to strengthen trade and diplomatic relations between Africa and the US.
