The Central African Republic (CAR) is entering a new phase of its electoral process, with the National Elections Authority (ANE) announcing that voters will be called to the polls on September 29, 2025.
Candidate submissions will open on October 2.
According to ANE President Dr. Morouba Mathias Barthélemy, the timetable is in strict compliance with the Electoral Code and is intended to ensure the “transparency, inclusivity, and credibility” of the upcoming republican consultations.
“These steps mark a decisive turning point in the democratic process under way in our country,” the ANE said in a statement, urging citizens, political actors, civil society groups, technical and financial partners, and the media to engage with “responsibility, civility, and patriotism.”
The announcement comes as CAR prepares for a crucial vote seen as critical to consolidating its institutions.
The ANE emphasised that all stakeholders must adhere to established procedures to safeguard the legitimacy and credibility of the ballot.
