Mozambican authorities say Gezani is expected to strengthen into a full tropical cyclone before making landfall on Friday.

Authorities say cyclone no longer expected to make landfall in Mozambique although it could still influence weather conditions.

A powerful cyclone has ripped across Madagascar, killing at least 31 people and plunging the port city of Toamasina into turmoil.

The consignment – Zimbabwe’s second in less than a month – was handed over at the National Food Reserve Agency depot in Lilongwe.

The latest incident brings the number of migrants reported dead or missing on the Mediterranean route in 2026 to at least 484. 

The quake struck around 7:10 pm local time (1710 GMT) around the Stilfontein area, with tremors felt as far as 53 kilometres away.
