The Chinese Navy hospital ship Ji Xiang Fang Zhou is scheduled to dock at the Port of Dakar from September 24 to October 1, 2026, to conduct a specialized program of free medical consultations and treatments for Senegalese citizens.
Operating under bilateral military cooperation frameworks between Senegal and China, the mission focuses on advancing joint military health initiatives and strengthening access to specialized medical care for local communities.
According to Senegal’s Directorate of Information and Public Relations of the Armed Forces (DIRPA), clinical consultations will take place daily from September 25 through September 29, followed by scheduled medical treatments on the morning of September 30. To maintain organized clinical workflows, beneficiary patients are being pre-selected through designated health facilities under the Ministry of Health, with DIRPA confirming that walk-in registrations from the general public will not be accepted during the port call.
