The Government of Liberia has officially announced its participation in the World Expo 2025, which will be held in Osaka, Kansai, Japan, from August 23 to October 13, 2025.
The government views this as a strategic opportunity to position Liberia as an attractive destination for global trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
The expo, themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” will gather 162 countries and international organizations to showcase innovations, cultures, and sustainable development solutions. Liberia’s pavilion will highlight the nation’s rich cultural heritage, vast investment potential, and commitment to sustainable development.
The Liberian Pavilion will serve as a platform to promote economic opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, mining, fisheries, renewable energy, infrastructure, and tourism. It will also celebrate the creativity and resilience of the Liberian people.
As part of the participation, 70 Japanese students will perform the Liberian National Anthem, symbolizing the strong friendship between the two nations. Additionally, Liberia will host a national parade at the expo, with delegates proudly dressed in the national colors of red, white, and blue to showcase national pride and cultural heritage to a global audience.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is leading the coordination of the Liberian delegation in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs & Tourism, and the National Investment Commission. The government hopes to foster partnerships that will contribute to the nation’s economic growth and social development, in line with its national development agenda, the ARREST Agenda.
The Government of Liberia expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for the invitation and called on all Liberians to take pride in this moment of national representation.
