Morocco recorded a new tourism milestone by the end of May 2025, with a 22% increase in arrivals over the first five months of the year — confirming the country’s growing global appeal as a travel destination.
A total of 7.2 million tourists visited Morocco between January and May 2025, representing an increase of 1.3 million visitors compared to the same period in 2024 — a 68% surge compared to 2019 levels.
According to the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism, this upward trend is no coincidence. It reflects the impact of a strategic policy framework implemented since 2024, with the aim of positioning Morocco as a leading global destination.
The country’s 2023–2026 tourism roadmap focuses on improving air connectivity, intensifying international marketing efforts, and investing in a more diversified tourism offering. These measures are already showing results, as Morocco becomes increasingly attractive to travelers from around the world.
The ultimate goal is to reach 26 million tourists annually by 2030 — a target that appears increasingly achievable based on current performance.
