Yango Group, the Emirati technology company, has chosen Abidjan as the strategic center for its expanding African operations.
The inauguration of its new regional office on Wednesday marks a significant step in strengthening its presence on the continent, from which it will coordinate activities across 16 African countries.
Having been active in Africa since 2018, including a notable presence in Côte d’Ivoire, Yango aims to leverage Abidjan as its primary operational hub on the continent. The new office will oversee Yango’s diverse activities and will involve nearly 200 employees.
“This new regional office in Abidjan marks a new chapter in our journey across Africa,” stated Daniil Shuleyko, CEO of Yango Group. He emphasized the importance of developing “digital ecosystems adapted to local realities.” Through its integrated services—encompassing mobility, delivery, navigation, e-commerce, and payment, all bundled into a Super App—Yango seeks to contribute to Africa’s digital transformation while simultaneously fostering economic opportunities for local stakeholders.
In line with this commitment, the Yango Fellowship program, already operational in Côte d’Ivoire, is set for a pan-African expansion. The program’s objective is to equip hundreds of thousands of young people with essential digital skills in the coming years, with Abidjan serving as the central training hub.
Founded in Dubai, Yango Group maintains a global footprint, operating in over 30 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
