Burkina Faso participated in proceedings of the Committee on Procedures of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Baku Azerbaijan on Wednesday.
The IsDB is a strategic body responsible for reviewing governance issues and the statutory matters
of this multilateral financial institution.
The Burkinabe Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. Aboubakar Nacanabo, participated in the proceedings held on the sidelines of the 51st Annual Meetings of the IsDB Group in Baku.
Representing Burkina Faso in his capacity as Governor to the institution, Dr. Nacanabo took part in the discussions alongside representatives of six other member states.
This participation demonstrates Burkina Faso’s commitment to actively contributing to the deliberations and decisions that guide the operations and strategic priorities of one of the leading development finance institutions in the Islamic world.
Held behind closed doors, the meeting of the Committee on Procedures is a key event of the IsDB Annual Meetings.
This body reviews draft resolutions, governance issues, and institutional matters before they are submitted to the Board of Governors, the Bank’s supreme decision-making body.
For this session, the committee is composed of the Governors of Burkina Faso, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Gabon, The Gambia, Togo, and Tunisia.
Participants are holding in-depth consultations to reach consensus on the agenda items and strengthen the institution’s governance mechanisms.
This work is part of the 51st Annual Meetings of the IDB Group, which bring together government officials, financial partners, and policymakers to discuss the economic and social development challenges facing member countries.
