Chad’s Prime Minister has signed a decree establishing an Interministerial Technical Committee to monitor and evaluate government’s performance, an initiative aimed at strengthening oversight of the president’s five-year political programme.
The decree, signed by Ambassador Allah-Maye Halina on April 4, 2025, sets up an institutional framework to track and assess actions undertaken by various ministries and public institutions across the country.
Chaired by the Minister Secretary General of the Government, the
committee will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating measures implemented by sectoral ministries and developing a dedicated digital platform for this purpose. It is also tasked with submitting monthly and quarterly reports to the Prime Minister.
Comprising senior Chadian administration officials, including ministry secretaries general and several directors general, the committee can enlist any individual deemed capable of supporting its mission. Seven resource persons have also been appointed to assist in its work.
Under Article 6 of the decree, the committee’s operating costs will be covered by the state budget, with the option to receive financial and technical support from Chad’s partners.
This initiative reflects the Chadian government’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of its public actions and improve coordination among state institutions.
