DRC GOLD TRADING SA and the Congolese General Savings Bank (CADECO) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at facilitating and securing payments to traders who sell their gold
to DRC GOLD, the company announced in a statement.
An agreement concerning payments to gold traders was concluded with DRC GOLD on Monday at CADECO’s headquarters in the Gombe district of Kinshasa, following a meeting between representatives of the two state-owned enterprises.
The DRC GOLD delegation was led by its Managing Director, Joseph Kazibaziba Maombi, accompanied by several company executives.
Under the terms of the partnership, CADECO will install advanced teller windows at DRC GOLD’s facilities. These service points will allow traders to conduct their financial transactions directly at the trading locations, in a secure, fast, and transparent environment.
This system aims to reduce the risks associated with handling and transporting cash, while facilitating access to formal financial services for stakeholders in the gold sector.
DRC GOLD and CADECO are therefore encouraging traders to open accounts with the bank to fully benefit from the advantages of this payment mechanism.
Beyond facilitating transactions, this partnership is part of a broader approach to securing financial flows and formalising the gold marketing chain in the DRC.
For DRC GOLD TRADING SA, this collaboration represents a new step in establishing an official gold marketing channel based on security, transparency, and traceability of transactions.
The system should also help bring gold sector stakeholders closer to formal financial channels, improve payment traceability, and strengthen trust among the various actors in the value chain.
Through this cooperation, the two public companies intend to support the structuring of the Congolese gold sector and contribute to better securing transactions related to the marketing of gold.
