Invest Africa, in partnership with British International Investment (BII), is set to host a half-day business forum next week to explore strategies for harnessing digital, financial, and spatial inclusion opportunities to drive sustainable development across South Africa.
Scheduled for October 23 in Johannesburg, the forum – themed “Impactful Investing for Inclusive Growth” – will convene key stakeholders from various sectors and will feature prominent speakers such as Andile Ngcaba, founder and chairperson of Convergence Partners and Hardy Pemhiwa, group president and chief executive of Cassava Technologies.
“These thought leaders will share insights into how strategic investments can unlock untapped potential within South Africa’s economy,” Invest Africa said in a statement on Friday.
The forum will focus on critical areas such as digital infrastructure and affordable housing, while also exploring innovative financial solutions that can drive inclusive growth and help South Africa meet its sustainable development goals.
Invest Africa chief executive Chantelé Carrington expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with BII.
“Together, we aim to empower communities, bridge gaps in access and drive sustainable development across the country. This event represents a significant step in our efforts to bring transformative investment to the region.”
British International Investment, the UK’s development finance institution, has been a long-term partner to South Africa, with its first investment dating back to 1995.
As the country’s economic landscape continues to evolve, BII says it remains committed to promoting sustainable development through impactful and inclusive investments.
Managing director and head of Africa at BII, Chris Chijiutomi emphasised the importance of the forum, noting that his organisation is committed to investing our capital to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
“This will be the first in a series of forums aimed at bringing together businesses and investors to unlock South Africa’s economic potential.”
The event is expected to gather business leaders, investors, and policymakers for discussions on how impactful investments can drive sustainable and inclusive growth in South Africa.
