Morocco was unanimously elected on Sunday in Doha, Qatar, as a member of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Urban Development for the 2026-2027 term.
The unanimous election, which took place during the Council’s 42nd session, recognizes Morocco’s firm commitment to developing sustainable housing policies. These policies aim to guarantee access to decent housing and strengthen the resilience of Moroccan cities, according to an official Moroccan source.
The session, attended by ministers and heads of delegations from Arab countries as well as representatives from regional and international organizations, focused on several key issues designed to strengthen cooperation among Arab states in the housing and urban planning sector.
Participants reviewed: Arab scientific and practical experiences in cooperation with regional blocs and foreign countries. The implementation of the Arab Strategy for Housing and Urban Development and the New Urban Agenda.
The meeting provided an opportunity to facilitate the exchange of expertise and advance joint Arab action in this vital sector.
