Niger’s Prime Minister, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, was received in Dakar on Monday by his Senegalese counterpart, Ousmane Sonko, ahead of the Invest in Senegal Forum (FII Senegal) 2025, scheduled for October 7–8 at the CICAD conference center in Diamniadio.
The visit marks a new step in the gradual diplomatic rapprochement between Dakar and Niamey, initiated in May 2025 with the mission of Senegal’s Minister of Armed Forces, General Birame Diop.
This was further strengthened by the efforts of Senegal’s ambassador to Niger, Mouhamadou Sarr, who has held multiple institutional meetings in Niamey since August.
Organised by the Senegalese Agency for Investment Promotion and Major Works (APIX) under the patronage of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the Invest in Senegal Forum aims to position Dakar as a strategic investment hub in West Africa by highlighting business opportunities and economic partnerships.
Talks between the two prime ministers focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring investment prospects, on the eve of a forum expected to serve as a major platform for attracting international investors to the region.
