Qatar unveiled “Juha,” the official mascot of the 2025 Arab Cup, in Doha on Sunday, November 23.
The tournament is scheduled to run from December 1 to 18. Presented just days before the competition’s kickoff, the mascot is inspired by an iconic figure from the Arab world. “Juha” is known throughout popular tales, from the Maghreb to the Middle East, symbolizing humor, wisdom, and the popular spirit inherited from oral tradition.
This choice is a deliberate effort by the organizing committee to anchor the event in the shared cultural heritage of the Arab world, uniting fans around an easily recognizable symbol. “Juha,” inspired by the ancestral hero of the “Tales of Juha,” is set to participate in the entertainment and cultural activities planned throughout the competition.
The 2025 Arab Cup will bring together 16 national teams. Nine teams have already qualified based on the FIFA rankings, and the remaining seven teams will be determined following playoff matches held on November 25 and 26, also in Qatar.
The opening match is scheduled for December 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Al Bayt Stadium, pitting host nation Qatar against the winner of the Palestine-Libya match. The final is set to take place on December 18 at Lusail Stadium. Other matches will be hosted across several major venues, including Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Education City, Khalifa International Stadium, and Stadium 974.
This edition of the Arab Cup is part of a series of international events hosted by Qatar at the end of the year, including the FIFA U-17 World Cup and the final matches of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
