The authorities in Morocco have firmly denied claims that two Moroccan soldiers were killed in an Iranian strike on an Israeli base, calling the reports baseless and part of a disinformation campaign.
The rumour originated from a forged document purportedly issued by Morocco’s liaison office in Israel, which claimed the officers were killed during a supposed joint military training program with Israeli forces.
According to Moroccan sources, the document is entirely fabricated.
“This is sheer nonsense,” an official source told APA, emphasising that Morocco has no military personnel deployed in Israel and is not engaged in any joint military operations with the country.
The fake document was already going viral on several known online platforms and quickly spread across social media.
Rabat believes the intention behind this disinformation campaign is to tarnish Morocco’s image amid the ongoing escalation between Iran and Israel.
“There is absolutely no evidence to support the claim of Moroccan military presence or casualties in Israel,” the source reiterated, warning against the use of such fabrications to manipulate public opinion.
