Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Morocco’s national airline, announced on Monday the launch of nine new direct international routes from Casablanca, starting in 2026, as part of an aggressive expansion plan to strengthen the Kingdom’s global connectivity.
This new phase of expansion is central to the development strategy for the Casablanca hub and RAM’s ambition to consolidate its role as an air gateway connecting continents.
RAM CEO Hamid Addou highlighted the airline’s recent growth, stating, “Since 2023, we have welcomed about ten additional aircraft, increased our frequencies on several strategic destinations, and opened nearly twenty international routes.”
He added that the 2026 expansion marks another major step forward with at least nine new routes, thereby strengthening Morocco’s connection with major global cities and contributing to the Kingdom’s economic and tourism influence.
The expansion plan is built on two main pillars: strengthening the medium-haul network, and extending long-haul connections. This strategy is supported by the gradual arrival of new aircraft, featuring modernized cabins and connected services designed to meet international standards and support traffic growth.
The airline has scheduled five new routes to launch from Casablanca starting in April 2026, strengthening its presence in both Africa and Southern Europe: Pointe-Noire (Congo). Tripoli (Libya), Beirut (Lebanon), Bilbao (Spain) and Alicante (Spain).
In addition to these, RAM had previously announced the launch of the Casablanca-Saint Petersburg route in January 2026 and the Casablanca-Los Angeles route in June 2026.
Further expansion in Europe includes the Casablanca–Verona route opening on June 20, 2026 (bringing the total destinations in Italy to eight), and the Casablanca-Lille route in France in July 2026.
In parallel with new routes, Royal Air Maroc will increase frequencies on several strategic long-haul routes, including São Paulo, Miami, Washington, and Dubai. Tickets for all new routes will go on sale starting December 15.
