Saint Petersburg has officially greenlit the establishment of an information business center in Morocco following a high-level diplomatic mission to the Kingdom.
According to city authorities, this dedicated facility is designed to serve as a strategic bridge between Russian and Moroccan business communities, specifically highlighting Saint Petersburg’s industrial and technological innovations. While a specific opening date has not yet been announced, the center will operate as a permanent contact point to facilitate information sharing and investment, mirroring similar successful structures Saint Petersburg has deployed in other international markets.
This economic initiative follows a strong sectoral showing at the GITEX Africa 2026 exhibition in Marrakech, where ten Saint Petersburg-based companies presented advanced solutions in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and unmanned aerial systems. To support this growing commercial interest, Russian officials are pursuing a formal partnership with Casablanca, Morocco’s primary economic hub. These institutional ties are reinforced by the January 2026 launch of a direct flight route between Casablanca and Saint Petersburg, which has already begun to streamline professional travel and business logistics between the two regions.
Beyond the technological and industrial focus, the Russian delegation has also integrated a cultural dimension into the mission by donating several publications to the Russian cultural representation in Morocco. This multifaceted approach aims to build a comprehensive bilateral relationship that extends from high-tech smart city collaborations to academic and cultural exchange. By combining new transport links with a physical business headquarters, Saint Petersburg is positioning itself as a long-term partner in Morocco’s rapidly evolving economic landscape.
