Nestlé has announced the appointment of Samer Chedid, previously CEO of Nestlé Indonesia, as the new CEO of Nestlé Central and West Africa (CWAR). He succeeds Mauricio Alarcon, who has transitioned to a new role within the Swiss food group.
Mr. Chedid is a seasoned business leader with extensive experience across Nestlé’s operations in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. He is no stranger to the Central and West Africa region, having previously served as Country Director for Ghana.
In his new capacity, Chedid will oversee the company’s business across 25 countries in the CWAR region. Expressing his enthusiasm, he stated, “I am delighted to return to a region that has been part of my career within the group.” He added, “With our resilient team of more than 5,000 employees, I will continue to advance our mission through innovation, high-quality product offerings, and meaningful partnerships.”
Chedid further outlined his vision, stating, “Our goal is to improve livelihoods, promote community development, and maintain our commitment to environmental stewardship.”
Samer Chedid began his career with Nestlé in 1998 as a Sales Development Manager. His career trajectory includes roles as Head of Category Sales Development for the Middle East, Managing Director for Bahrain, Qatar, and Dubai, and a previous stint as Country Director for Ghana within the CWAR region. He then returned to the Middle East as Sales Director before being appointed Country Director for Saudi Arabia and later promoted to CEO of Nestlé Pakistan.
Recognized for his leadership, solid experience, strategic mindset, and passion for developing high-performing teams, Mr. Chedid now takes the helm of Nestlé’s Central and West Africa operations.
