Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye is in Benin for a two-day working visit, arriving today, Tuesday, July 15, at the invitation of his Beninese counterpart, President Patrice Talon.
The visit was jointly announced by the presidencies of both nations in separate press releases.
This high-level visit is aimed at strengthening the already existing bonds of friendship and cooperation between Dakar and Cotonou. According to the Beninese presidency, President Diomaye Faye is scheduled to be welcomed this afternoon at Cotonou’s Cardinal Bernardin Gantin International Airport with full protocol honors by Foreign Minister Olushegun Adjadi Bakari.
Official press releases indicate that discussions between the two heads of state are expected to focus on a range of bilateral and regional issues, with the primary objective of injecting new momentum into Beninese-Senegalese cooperation.
