Olympique de Marseille (OM) has officially announced the return of a club legend, signing former captain Habib Beye as the head coach of its first team.
The appointment marks a full circle for the former Senegalese international, who previously wore the iconic white jersey as a defender between 2003 and 2007.
In an official statement, the club expressed its delight in welcoming back a figure synonymous with leadership and commitment. Beye, who began his professional journey at RC Strasbourg before his rise at Marseille, later enjoyed a successful career in England with Newcastle United and Aston Villa. Since transitioning to the sidelines, Beye has built a reputation as a disciplined and intense tactician. He famously guided Red Star FC to the National championship and promotion to Ligue 2 in 2024.
