President Salva Kiir in his capacity as Commander-In-Chief of the Supreme Armed Forces on Monday presided over the oath-taking ceremony of Madut Dut Yel as the new Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs, and Gen. Thoi Chany Reat as Director General of the General Intelligence Bureau of the National Security Service.
President Kiir enjoined the two to demonstrate commitment to serving the nation.
As new intelligence chief, Gen. Thoi Chany Reat replaces General Simon Yien Makuach, who had held the position since 2021.
“Let’s focus on addressing the challenges facing our nation,” President Kiir told them after they had taken the oaths of office to serve with decorum and patriotism.
According to President Kiir building South Sudan would require the concerted efforts of all her citizens.
He directed the new officials to work n unison with their colleagues in other institutions and build a peaceful and cohesive society.
