French energy major TotalEnergies will use the Angola Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (AOG) 2026 to showcase its expanding multi‑faceted strategy in the country as the company deepens its role in Angola’s next phase of offshore growth.
The firm’s country manager for Angola, Martin Deffontaines has been confirmed as a speaker at the event, which will run from 8 to 10 September.
TotalEnergies remains one of Angola’s largest oil producers and is pursuing a dual approach that combines optimisation of mature assets with new frontier exploration and major deepwater developments.
The company recently signed a Principles Agreement with the National Oil, Gas & Biofuels Agency to extend its Block 32 licence to 2043, paving the way for continued development of one of Angola’s most productive offshore areas, including the Kaombo project.
Alongside its brownfield work, TotalEnergies is expanding into new basins.
In March 2026, it signed an agreement with the regulator and ExxonMobil for the allocation of four blocks in the Benguela and Namibe basins, following a 2025 deal to study free areas in Blocks 17/06 and 32/21.
These efforts aim to identify new exploration leads and support long‑term production.
The company’s project pipeline underscores its long‑term commitment to Angola. Central to this is the $6 billion Kaminho deepwater development in the Kwanza Basin, the first major project of its kind in the area.
With production expected in 2028, Kaminho will add around 70,000 barrels per day through a lower‑emissions FPSO.
TotalEnergies also brought two offshore projects online in 2025 – Begonia and CLOV Phase 3 – adding a combined 60,000 barrels per day to national output.
