A tragic accident in the city of Ati, the capital of Batha province, resulted in the deaths of two technicians and left a third in critical condition following an electrocution during a Starlink antenna installation.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in the city’s Arab quarter. According to eyewitnesses and hospital sources, the three young technicians were installing a satellite internet antenna when they accidentally made contact with a live metal bar. The resulting high-voltage shock struck all three workers simultaneously.
The victims were rushed to the Ati Provincial Hospital, where two of the technicians succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival. The third remains under intensive medical care in critical condition.
The tragedy has sparked significant distress and anger within the local community. Residents and shopkeepers in the Arab quarter have raised concerns regarding inadequate safety standards and the risks associated with electrical work in densely populated urban areas.
