Zambians will pay less for diesel, kerosene and Jet A‑1 in June after the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) reduced prices for the three fuels while keeping the cost of petrol unchanged.
The revised national pump prices, announced on Sunday, took effect on Monday.
Petrol remains at K27.15 ($1.48) per litre, while diesel drops K1.88 to K32.11. Kerosene falls K1.14 to K33.91 and Jet A‑1 declines K1.30 to K36.68.
ERB said the adjustments reflect mixed movements in international oil prices and a slightly stronger kwacha during the latest pricing cycle.
Global petrol prices rose from $119.63 to $124.24 per barrel due to tensions in the Middle East, while diesel prices fell sharply from $195.59 to $155.64 per barrel.
Kerosene and Jet A‑1 also dropped from $196.56 to $155.45 per barrel.
The kwacha appreciated from K18.97 to K18.56 per US dollar over the same period.
Board chairperson James Banda said the combination of global price shifts and exchange‑rate gains formed the basis for the June adjustments.
