On the sidelines of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON), the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) continues its advocacy for an African economic partnership based on investment, regional integration, and the promotion of “Made in Africa.”
The CGEM hosted an African delegation of journalists in Casablanca on Thursday, December 25, during the 2025 AfCON, thus confirming Morocco’s position as a regional and continental economic hub.
On this occasion, Ali Zerouali, Vice-President of the CGEM’s Africa Commission, highlighted the strategic importance of the visit, organised in conjunction with this major sporting event.
“This visit is also a prime opportunity to strengthen economic relations between the continent’s private sectors,” he stated.
Founded in 1947, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises is the representative organisation of the national private sector.
It brings together nearly 90,000 businesses and plays a central role in dialogue with public authorities, promoting competitiveness, and improving the business climate.
According to Ali Zerouali, “the CGEM is working to build lasting bridges between Moroccan and African entrepreneurs, based on a win-win partnership and co-development approach.”
He also highlighted the kingdom’s strengths, including the quality of its infrastructure, the robustness of its industrial ecosystem, and the presence of its financial institutions in numerous African countries.
“Our commitment is clear: to contribute to the emergence of a competitive and job-creating ‘Made in Africa’ sector,” concluded Ali Zerouali.
Led by the organizers, notably the ANME (National Association of Media and Publishers), this initiative, scheduled from December 20, 2025, to January 2, aims to encourage cultural exchange
alongside the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Through this route linking Casablanca, Rabat, Tangiers, Marrakech, Fez and Agadir, the continental competition also establishes itself as a showcase for the kingdom, its diversity and its openness.
