In the women’s tournament, Morocco made a huge statement by sweeping past the Japanese team in straight sets, 21-17 and 21-15. This dominant win highlights the growing strength of women’s beach volleyball on the African continent and establishes the Moroccan duo as a top contender for the title.
Meanwhile, the men’s competition was a nail-biter for the Moroccan team, who put up a fierce fight against beach volleyball powerhouse Brazil. The match went to a decisive third set, with Brazil ultimately winning 21-10, 16-21, and 15-11. Morocco bounced back with a strong performance against the host nation, Burundi, winning in straight sets, 21-18 and 21-11, and showing their impressive potential.
The tournament also featured top-tier teams from nations like Latvia, the United States, Japan, Switzerland, and Germany, who all secured wins against less experienced teams. The home team, Burundi, played with courage and determination, fueled by an enthusiastic crowd.
